The Mirror
(Music: Markus Husi/ Words: Patrick Stoll)
You were trying so hard to fall in love again
To find that special someone, but your search was in vain
All the people around you were coming up
With some sort of advice
But when it finally happened you were so sure, you didn’t have to think twice
Who do you see in the mirror at night
Who do you see before you turn off the light
Is it the same man looking at you
As when you last checked out this sight
It was a foregone conclusion
When others thought you were down
They simply failed to consider
The times are past when you were a clown
You kept yourself so busy
To stop your heart from yearning too much
But when it finally happened
All it took was the spell of her touch
Who do you see in the mirror at night
Who do you see before you turn off the light
Is it the same man looking at you
As when you last checked out this sight
You cherish her style, her sense of beauty, her humour and good heart
She makes you smile with confidence
Even when you are apart
To cut a long story short now
It’s plain to see the love he’s in
This guy is wildly determined
To stand by her through thick and thin
Call him a hopeless romantic, say he’s naïve and an old-fashioned fool
Then he will only reply: «Think what you will
‘Cause for me it feels cool»
Who do you see in the mirror at night
Who do you see before you turn off the light
Is it the same man looking at you
As when you last checked out this sight
By no means the same man looking at you
As when you last checked out this sight
It ain’t the same man looking at you
As when you last checked out this sight
Just not the same man looking at you
As when you last checked out this sight
